Tom is a PhD student with OBEL working in the area of Fourier holography. After doing his internship at OBEL in 2002/2003, he joined the team again in 2005 as a visiting PhD student from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, where he completed his Master's degree on a rather unrelated topic: systems engineering. In 2007 he became a full UWA student and is not visiting any more!

Besides researching revolutionary methods of biomedical image acquisition and processing he also has to care about this website. In his spare time, he likes to play volleyball and every now and then he can be seen paddling along the swan river or 'sinking himself into oceanic surroundings'.

Blake joined the OBEL team as a Research Associate in 2006, working on the optical coherence tomography (OCT) system as an imaging and diagnostic tool for Muscular Dystrophy. Since 2007 he's doing a PhD on this topic.

Blake completed a BSc in Physiology and Neuroscience in 2003 and a BE with Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2005, both at the University of Western Australia. His honours project was completed at OBEL during his final year, and forms the basis of his continuing work with the group.
