OBEL’s microscope-in-a-needle research recently won the SPIE Start-up Challenge in San Francisco, USA. Run by SPIE, the competition invites researchers to present a 3 minute business pitch of their work. The Competition is held at Photonics West, the world’s largest laser and photonics conference and trade show, with over 20,000 attendees.
OBEL was represented by A/Prof. Robert McLaughlin, who beat competition from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of Toronto, as well as CEOs of several technology companies.
