Congratulations to Peijun Gong for winning a student prize at this year’s Combined Biological Sciences Meeting.
Peijun is a PhD student in the Optical + Biomedical Engineering Laboratory, and is developing new methods to assess human burns scars using optical coherence tomography (OCT). His poster described a method to measure the differences between burns scars and normal tissue by quantifying the attenuation rate of near infrared light.
At this year’s meeting, he was awarded the Best Poster Image Prize.
The Combined Biological Sciences Meeting is a multi-disciplinary meeting held annually at UWA, with the goal of promoting biological science in Western Australia by encouraging the interaction of scientists, students and industry covering all the Life Sciences.
