Getting Around Perth

Taxis in Perth may be hailed on the street, or booked by calling a taxi company. More information, including company phone numbers, is available from the Taxi Council of WA (www.tcwa.com.au/servcatchcab.html). Note that all legal taxis in WA have a "TAXI" license plate.

Public transport in Perth is provided by buses and trains, and coordinated by Transperth (www.transperth.wa.gov.au). The Transperth Journey Planner allows searching of the bus and train routes. Of particular interest to conference delegates is the Fremantle-Perth train line. A journey from the Fremantle Train Station (a short walk from the Esplanade Hotel) to the center of Perth takes 30 minutes and costs $3.10 each way.
