Wednesday Overview

The social programme for Wednesday commences after lunch.

You have the choice to participate in all the activities/events or, alternatively, you can choose from the activities below to suit your interests.

It is important to note, that if you plan to participate in the guided walk at Kings Park, you need to leave Fremantle on the early bus departing at 16.00 and you should wear comfortable shoes. Those who want to give the guided walk a miss and prefer to arrive at Kings Park just in time for the pre-dinner drinks at 18.15, may want to take the late bus departing from the Esplanade Hotel at 17.30.

For the guided walk, we anticipate that there will be several groups of around twenty participants, departing at short intervals from around 16.45.

The guided walk will commence near Aspects of Kings Park where you can browse through contemporary Australian arts and crafts (all profits from purchases are channelled back into the environmental work by the Botanic Garden and Parks Authority). 'Asects' have kindly agreed to extend their normal opening hours by thirty minutes or so, to allow you to visit the shop before the guided walk. The guided walk will end in the vicinity of Fraser's Restaurant, the venue for the conference dinner.

Coaches will return to the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle, departing from Fraser's restaurant at 22:00 and at 22:30.

The bar at the Esplanade Hotel remains open until midnight.

The independent-minded may be interested to know that Fremantle train station is in easy walking distance to the Esplanade Hotel, with a train-ride into Perth city taking 30 minutes. The Perth-Fremantle train time-table will be provided in the conference satchel.
